Full-Time Program Coordinator – Center for Arts Learning and Leadership

92nd Street Y – Posted by Human Resources New York, NY, USA

Job Description

Department: Center for Arts Learning and Leadership

Job Summary

92Y is looking for a Program Coordinator to join its Center for Arts Learning and Leadership (CALL), a team dedicated to delivering exceptional arts & humanities education to K-12 students and their teachers at public schools across New York City and beyond.

CALL connects school communities with leading artists, writers and thought leaders to help students discover their intellectual and artistic passions, identify resources to pursue those passions and shape the future of their world. Programming takes place both in-person — through multi-week, curriculum-based residencies at our partner schools — and through live performance, exhibitions, talks and readings at our historic cultural center. Additionally, CALL has developed a hybrid education program — the Young Leaders Series — to expand upon 92Y’s mission of connecting students with limited exposure to arts education with exceptional artists and thinkers, and we are now reaching beyond our building’s walls and city limits to take our mission to schools both near and far.

The Program Coordinator supports the Director and Associate Director in all programming aspects of the 92Y’s Center for Arts Learning and Leadership (CALL), which creates dynamic arts education programs for K-12 students and teachers in a range of arts disciplines, including music, dance, literature and visual art and design. The Program Coordinator is responsible for a range of administrative and coordinative duties, including supporting CALL’s cohort of Teaching Artists in residence with schools across New York City and beyond (through our virtual education initiatives); liaising with personnel at collaborating schools; facilitating school-based and online workshops; assisting in new school recruitment.

  • Supports cohort of Teaching Artists and coordinates their teaching schedules for school-based programs
  • Communicates regularly with teachers and school personnel in CALL programs across 50+ schools
  • Assists with evaluation of CALL programs by conducting school-based observations of Teaching Artists, developing and disseminating post-event surveys to school personnel, organizing focus groups, and conducting regular check-ins with school personnel
  • Supports Teaching Artists in their completion of curriculum plans for school residencies
  • Assists with logistical and production arrangements for workshops and performances
  • Assist with the submission and tracking of program expenses and maintain database, records, correspondence, evaluations and files
  • Process bi-weekly payroll and record payments for invoices associated with school-based programs
  • Assists with new-school recruitment, including managing communications with new school prospects, responding to enquiries and onboarding new schools
  • Additional related duties may be assigned as required.
