PROGRAM SUMMARY

The Grants Associate, manages all the core functions of The Frederick J. Isaac Philanthropic Fund, a Donor Advised Fund of the JCF&EF with annual grantmaking of $500 – 650k. This role works closely with a diverse cadre of grantee organizations that are selected by invitation to submit proposals for funding. The Isaac Fund makes grants via 3 cycles per year as well as makes discretionary grants throughout the year according to the Fund’s priorities.
The Grants Associate will be the primary contact for all applicants, grantees, and The Isaac Fund’s principal donor as well as key professional staff which make up the advisory team. signatories. This role works closely with grant management and also coordinates with the FPP team, marketing, and other Federation staff as needed to achieve the Fund’s goals, and share information and resources.

MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

This role does not have managerial responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Work with the Isaac Fund donor and professional staff team to strategize on grantmaking and partner to meet strategic grantmaking goals.
  • Plan and execute The Isaac Fund’s 3 grantmaking cycles, including calendaring, agenda planning, logistics, materials preparation and minutes. Each Grantmaking Cycle entails at least 8-10 meetings with prospective grantee organizations as well as 2 proposal review meetings (approx 12 meetings per cycle).
  • Manage The Isaac Fund’s grantmaking including reporting, in coordination with principal donor and staff. This often requires proactive evaluation and impact questioning for the grantee.
  • Work with Marketing on communication pieces such as the Annual Report.
  • Work with centralized DAF Team and grant management team to ensure accurate and timely processing, acknowledgement, and tracking of grant proposals.
  • Keep current on grantmaking issues of importance to The Isaac Fund through news sources, contact with professional communities, and relevant educational programs.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple detail-oriented projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of constituents.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of the grantmaking process through work in another grantmaking setting.
  • Demonstrated personal and professional integrity within the work environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 3-5 years of professional work experience in grants management, non profit administration, or related fields.
  • Graduate degree in related discipline such as social work, or not for profit administration.
  • Management and/or program experience in a non profit field.

Compensation range: $30 – $40/ per hour
