Full-Time Grant Writer
The PeaceWorks Foundation and OneVoice Movement is seeking a dynamic, experienced Grant Writer to oversee grant writing for the OneVoice Movement. OneVoice is the flagship undertaking of the PeaceWorks Foundation.
OneVoice Movement is an international mainstream grassroots movement with over 650,000 signatories in roughly equal numbers both in Israel and in Palestine, and 4,500 highly-trained youth leaders. It aims to amplify the voice of Israeli and Palestinian moderates, empowering them to seize back the agenda for conflict resolution and demand that their leaders achieve a two-state solution guaranteeing the end of occupation, establishing a viable independent Palestinian state, and ensuring the safety and security of the state of Israel – allowing both people to live in peace with all their neighbors.
The Grant Writer will be responsible for managing the grant portfolio of the OneVoice Movement and its new initiative, the Peoples’
Blueprint, which fuses the efforts of civil society, the business sector, religious leaders, and international community to build concrete, positive projects on the ground toward a two-state solution.
It enables any individual – Israeli, Palestinian and international – to build and document progressive positive projects, beginning with small, grassroots-led milestones and scaling up incrementally to major economic projects. The Blueprint is designed to create a political environment conducive for leaders to take the necessary steps towards a final status agreement.
The Grant Writer reports directly to the Senior Development Officer and will work closely with him/her and the Director of International Engagement Program to research, write, and submit grant applications and grant reports to fund the Peoples’ Blueprint and the OneVoice Movement.
He/She must provide initiative, energy and imagination in helping to achieve OneVoice’s mission and development goals. The position consists of outreach to existing relationships to foundations and grant-making organizations and identification and cultivation of new relationships.
Specific responsibilities include — Coordinate implementation of plan to increase grant funding for OneVoice as well as manage existing foundation relationships; Complete 20 to 24 grants proposals annually and all required grant reports annually; Raise $1 million in grants annually; Assist OneVoice Europe in identifying and writing grant applications and with reporting; Maintain accurate grant and foundation database records, file reports and manage grant administration and logistics.
QUALIFICATIONS — Grant writing experience in the non-profit sector, or equivalent experience in the cultural & arts arena required; demonstrated success with small and large grant fundraising; Strong understanding of the space in which OneVoice operates and political dynamics in the Middle East; Strong interpersonal skills, ability work in a fast paced, challenging environment; Excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and oral); Capacity to work with diverse grant-making communities and diverse constituencies; Computer literacy a must – All Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint); Experience with SharePoint and Salesforce software a plus; Experience raising funds from international institutions and governmental sector a plus.
COMPENSATION — Salary is commensurate with experience and skills and includes a competitive fringe benefits package including medical, dental and vision coverage.
