Digital Communications Associate – Washington DC

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the organization’s website and microsites, including developing graphics, functionality, posting frequent updates of news and other materials, and new microsites; Monitors web server and site technical performance; Implements search engine optimization strategies; Work closely with the Director of Digital Strategy to set and ensure fundraising/advocacy campaigns achieve targets; Circulates efficient and accurate reporting, detailing results of each fundraising/advocacy campaign and possible improvement; Advises Communications Director and Director of Digital Strategy on the improvement, results and new direction in technology to assist in achievement of organizational goals; Works with senior staff and communications staff and appropriate vendors to implement technical improvements to web design and navigation; Coordinates with Israeli online communications staff on substantive updates and changes to website content; Codes and send out biweekly e-newsletter and other bulk emails; Ensures regular communication with regional offices, provides technical training, and acts as main point of contact regarding the website, events calendar, and email messages; Assists the Director of Digital Strategy and the Senior Communications Associate in growing organization’s online presence on social media platforms; Develops strategies together with the Director for Digital Strategy for increasing web traffic, list size and online donations; Establishes and implements web policies and standards (including brand identity standards) to support strategic objectives; Collaborates with the Special Assistant to the COO and the Director of Digital Strategy, to evaluate current strategies, analyze metrics, and refine or develop new strategies to utilize all our interactive channels to support NIF’s advocacy and fundraising efforts.

Designs and does layout forprint newsletters, program flyers, invitations, banner ads and other printed/online collaterals.

Required Knowledge, Education and Experience:

Proven website management experience

3-4 years of advocacy and/or professional online marketing experience; Demonstrated proficiency with Joomla, Salsa or similar non-profit CMS and CRM platforms; Proficiency with HTML and CSS.

Proficiency with Adobe graphics software such as Photoshop and InDesign.

Understanding of web metrics;

Excellent organizational, interpersonal and time management skills; Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and projects; Excellent team skills but capable of working independently and being self-motivated; Graphic design and video editing experience a plus.
