Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of SHJ’s current and potential programs, to find funders with aligned philanthropic missions.
  • Write, edit, and format letters of inquiry, grant proposals, foundation reports, acknowledgements, and other components of grant submissions, both independently and in collaboration with SHJ staff.
  • Ensuring that proposals are formatted, packaged, and submitted in accordance with granting foundation requirements.
  • Must work quickly and be able to produce polished proposals needing little editing.
  • Conduct foundation and other prospect research in line with SHJ’s mission and needs.
  • Generate and format financial information, including budgets and financial reports, for proposals and reports, in collaboration with SHJ staff.
  • Track grants and due dates and maintain foundation files.
  • Other development tasks as assigned.
