Job Description

David Kordansky Gallery is seeking a full-time ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR.  Established in 2003 and located in Culver City, CA, David Kordansky Gallery has quickly grown from primarily focusing on emerging art to an internationally recognized program featuring artists who have exhibited in acclaimed museums and galleries worldwide.

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with proven sales experience in a contemporary art gallery setting.  The Associate Director will be primarily responsible for creating, developing, and sustaining relationships with clients and institutions, and for acting as a liaison with gallery artists.

This is a full-time position, Tuesday through Saturday, and requires flexibility for additional hours based on the needs of the gallery, including domestic and overseas travel for art fairs, openings, and meetings with clients and artists.

Further responsibilities will include:
-Working closely with the gallery director in the conducting of art sales and planning of sales strategies
-Maintaining relationships with artists, collectors, museum professionals, media contacts, and the general public
-Assisting in the coordinating of gallery exhibitions
-Assisting in the preparation of applications for art fairs
-Managing artist production

Requirements:
-Proven sales experience working in a contemporary art gallery setting
-High degree of knowledge about contemporary art, institutions, and the art market
-Exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, strong work ethic
-Ability to work independently and efficiently within tight deadlines
-Proficiency in Mac computers and programs
