Part-Time Assistant Director Of Education For After School Program

Job Description

We are seeking an Assistant Director of Education for our after school program which meets on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoons from 3:30-6:30pm. The position is a 20-hour work week. The applicant needs to be a flexible, self-starting, dynamic, creative individual, who appreciates experimentation and innovation. A background in formal and informal Jewish education is essential, and familiarity with lesson planning and use of education resources is needed.

Primary responsibilities include: development of new curriculum and assessing overall success of lessons, overseeing daily school activities, helping train and continuing to mentor teachers, organizing staff meetings throughout the year, working on creative in-school projects, and being a vital part of enhancing our innovative hands-on approach to the religious school experience.  This person will also cultivate open, positive relationships with our parents and students, including working with our parent group, Team Rishonim.

The Assistant Director of Education also plays a programming role related to the larger community. They will be responsible for coordinating any student- or family-focused holiday and Shabbat programs beginning with High Holy Days and following the entire year’s calendar, in addition to being a key part of the program support staff.
