Full-Time Assistant Buyer

Job Description

Our client, a well-established medical equipment distributor located in the NY area, is currently seeking an assistant buyer.

Primary Responsibilities Include:
Negotiating with suppliers for best price, delivery, service and quality.
Developing new supply sources and maintaining good supplier relationships.
Creating competitive environment with vendors to reduce costs.
Schedule delivery of product, trace delinquent arrivals from purchase orders and expedite as necessary.
Inventory management; establish and maintain inventory levels that meet company goals as well as meeting customer service requirements.
Perform other related duties as required.

Required Skills:
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Proven ability to effectively negotiate pricing and delivery.
Must be an independent worker who enjoys a fast-paced environment.
Critical thinking skills to identify alternate solutions to problems.
Effective time management, organization and multi-tasking skills.
Excellent computer skills.
